Zusammenfassung
Die Digitalisierung betrifft alle Bereiche moderner Gesellschaften. Sie beeinflusst Bildung, Industrieproduktion, Arbeitsplätze und natürlich auch Freizeitaktivitäten. Ihre Wirkung zeigt sich in einem gewandelten Kommunikationsverhalten, der Ablauforganisation und vielen anderen Bereichen. Internationale Unternehmen waren die Vorreiter der Digitalisierung, aber die öffentliche Verwaltung in Deutschland hat in jüngster Zeit aufgeholt. Allerdings ist sie an Gesetze und politische Vorgaben gebunden und kann sich weniger flexibel an neue Veränderungen anpassen als privat geführte Unternehmen. Sie steht in einem permanenten Kampf um die besten Mitarbeitenden, da die Vergütung für vergleichbare Arbeiten in der Privatwirtschaft oft attraktiver ist. Sie muss daher an Formen der Einbindung von Mitarbeitenden und Hebung ihrer Innovationskraft ebenso interessiert sein wie Unternehmen. Dieser Artikel versucht, gemeinsame Herausforderungen und mögliche Vorteile der Verwendung von Spieltechniken bei der Steigerung der Motivation in der öffentlichen Verwaltung aufzuzeigen.

An dieser Stelle soll auf den Ansatz der „Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology“ (UTAUT) verwiesen werden, der sich vertieft mit Fragen der Technologieakzeptanz in Gruppen und Organisationen beschäftigt und in Form unterschiedlicher Modelle das Akzeptanzverhalten von Nutzenden zu erklären und vorauszusagen anstrebt. Beispiele hierfür sind das „Technology Acceptance Model“ (TAM) und die „Theory of Planned Behavior“ (TPB). Eine informative Literaturübersicht findet sich bei Venkatesh et al. (2016).
