Abstract
Dieser Artikel geht der Frage nach (1) welche empirischen Ergebnisse aktuell zum Thema der Wirkung von Storytelling vorliegen, (2) welches Storytellingverständnis in den Beiträgen angewandt wird, (3) welche Untersuchungsdesigns für die Wirkungsforschung von Storytelling angewandt werden, (4) wie valide die Forschungsdesigns und haltbar einzelne Ergebnisse sind und schließlich (5) was sich über die einzelnen Wirkungsdimensionen aussagen lässt. Dabei wurden 62 wissenschaftliche Beiträge einer Analyse unterzogen. Es stellt sich heraus, dass in den untersuchten Beiträgen die stärksten Effekte sowohl in absoluten Zahlen als auch in der Regressionsanalyse für die Erinnerung und leicht dahinter für die Verständlichkeit nachgewiesen werden. In der Regressionsanalyse sind auch die Befunde zur Wirkung von Storytelling auf die Glaubwürdigkeit sehr stark. Für die positive Wirkung auf Überzeugungskraft/Handeln gibt es viele starke Effekte aus einzelnen Studien. In der Regressionsanalyse liegt dann die Wirkung von Storytelling auf Erinnerung, Glaubwürdigkeit, Verständlichkeit und Interesse sogar signifi kant vor der häufi g beforschten Wirkung von Storytelling auf Überzeugungskraft/ Handeln. Kritisch lässt sich anmerken, dass die Studien starke Mängel im Begriffsverständnis von Storytelling aufweisen und auf studentische ProbandInnen fokussiert sind.
