Zusammenfassung
Der Beitrag untersucht in einer längsschnittlichen Perspektive von der zehnten Klasse bis zwei Jahre nach dem Erwerb des International Baccalaureate (IB) die Bildungsverläufe und Internationalitätsentwürfe von Jugendlichen einer IB World School in einer westdeutschen Metropolregion. Nach einer Darstellung aktueller Entwicklungen des Feldes Internationaler Schulen weltweit sowie in Deutschland, werden heuristische Konzepte zur Untersuchung von IB World Schools als transnationale Bildungsräume diskutiert. Den empirischen Teil des Beitrags bilden die Vorstellung von zwei Fallstudien zu den Bildungsverläufen von Absolventinnen und Absolventen einer IB World School und die Rekonstruktion von deren Entwürfen zu Internationalität. Abschließend werden die empirischen Fallanalysen noch einmal theoretisierend im Kontext der Debatte zum transnationalen Bildungsraum sowie zum transnationalen Kapital verortet.
