Zusammenfassung
Der Begriff Legitimation bezeichnet die Etablierung und Aufrechterhaltung von Legitimität für soziale Ordnungen und Herrschaftsverhältnisse, sowie die Rechtfertigung von Entscheidungen. „Legitimität“ bezieht sich, wie Max Weber (1864–1920) schrieb, auf die „Verbindlichkeit“ und „Vorbildlichkeit“ sozialer Ordnungen und auf den Anspruch von Autoritäten auf Gehorsam. Es geht um besondere Rechtfertigungsgründe, auf die sie sich stützen.
