Zussamenfassung
„Diffusion“ ist das Wandern einzelner sehr kleiner Teilchen (Atome, Ionen, kleine Moleküle), verursacht durch die thermische Eigenbeweglichkeit (Brown’sche Molekularbewegung) dieser kleinen Teilchen. Bei makroskopischer Betrachtung herrscht in dem Medium, in welchem Diffusion stattfindet, anscheinend Bewegungslosigkeit.
