Zusammenfassung
Die Steigerung der Beschäftigungsquoten älterer Personen (55 bis 64 Jahre) in Europa ist Teil der Lissabon-Strategie (Ziel: Erwerbsquote 50% bis 2010) und der Europäischen Beschäftigungsstrategie (Ziel in Deutschland: Erwerbsquote 60% bis 2020). Beschäftigungsquoten geben die extensive margin wieder, d.h. die Anzahl an Beschäftigten, vernachlässigen jedoch die intensive margin, die Anzahl an (z.B. jährlichen) Arbeitsstunden pro Beschäftigtem.
