Zusammenfassung
Die Jugendphase wird allgemein als sensibler Lebensabschnitt für die Entwicklung von politischen oder politisch relevanten Werten sowie Kompetenzen erachtet (z. B. Adelson 1980). Das Konzept der Entwicklungsaufgaben sieht vor, dass Heranwachsende vor allem in der Adoleszenz Politik-Werte und Handlungsformen entwickeln, die maßgeblich für das spätere Agieren als politisch mündiger Bürger relevant sind (Havighurst 1972; Dreher/Dreher 1985a, b). Dabei berufen sich zahlreiche Theorien und Studien im Bereich Jugend und Politik auf die Ausführungen Eriksons (1968). Nach seiner Phasentheorie entwickeln Jugendliche die sogenannte ‚agency‘, ihre politische Handlungswirksamkeit, sowie ihre ‚ideology‘, ihre Sicht auf die Welt und wie sie sich selbst in der komplexen Gesellschaft verorten.
