Zusammenfassung
Das Wort „Innovation“ ist in aller Munde. Man sieht sich einerseits permanent Innovationen ausgesetzt, vernimmt andererseits aber auch immer wieder Sorgen, wonach zukünftig die Innovationsfähigkeit deutscher Unternehmen in Frage gestellt sei. Dies verwirrt, zumal sich die Rahmenbedingungen für innovative Prozesse und Produkte in diesem Land nicht so dramatisch verändern und verändert haben, als dass es Dinge, die es bislang gab, nicht auch in Zukunft geben wird. Was meint man, wenn man von Innovation oder Innovationsmanagement spricht? Wodurch zeichnen sich Innovationen aus? Kann man systematische Klassifikationen von Innovationen vornehmen? Weisen Innovationen einen einheitlichen Verlauf aus und lassen sie sich als eine systematische Abfolge von Prozessen und Aktivitäten beschreiben? Das vorliegende Kapitel gibt Antworten auf diese und ähnliche Fragen.
