Abstract
Pareto had considerable influence on the discussion of the theory of income distribution proposing in 1895 the famous law which took his name. He noted that it was able to describe the income distributions published by financial statistics organizations in many countries and so he thought that it might be universal. The law was criticized by many economists and statisticians for the considerations made by Pareto in its formulation.
