Zusammenfassung
Bis vor wenigen Jahren war eine intrakranielle Diagnostik auch beim Neugeborenen und Säugling nur mit sehr ungenauen (eindimensionale Echoenzephalographie = A-Scan) oder invasiven Methoden (z.B. Luftenzephalographie, Angiographic) moglich. So konnte die Diagnose einer intraventrikulären Blutung lediglich aufgrund von klinischen Symptomen, nach einer Lumbalpunktion oder anderen indirekten Hinweisen vermutet werden. Nur bei den verstorbenen Kindern war es möglich durch die Obduktion genaue Angaben iiber die jeweiligen intrakraniellen Veränderungen zu machen [27]. Seit der Verfügbarkeit der Computertomographie haben sich völlig neue Möglichkeiten ergeben, da mit ihrer Hilfe das Schädelinnere zuverlässig bildlich dargestellt werden kann. Inzwischen besteht in der zweidimensionalen Echoenzephalographie eine wichtige Alternative zur Computertomographie [1,2,4,5,6,8,9,12,23,25,32,34,38]. Da ein großer Teil unseres Wissens über intrakranielle Veränderungen, insbesondere die Hirnblutung beim Früh- und Neugeborenen auf computertomographischen Untersuchungsergebnissen beruht [18, 19,28], erschien es sinnvoll, im Rahmen dieses Symposiums Unterschiede zwischen beiden Methoden darzustellen und dabei besonders auf diagnostische Möglichkeiten mit Hilfe der Sektor-Echoenzephalographie einzugehen.
