Zusammenfassung

Der Beitrag verwendet ausdrücklich den Begriff posttraumatische Belastungsreaktionen bei Verkehrsunfallopfern. Es soll verdeutlicht werden, dass Verkehrsunfälle, auch solche mit schweren körperlichen Verletzungen und/oder potenziell psychisch traumatisierenden Umständen, nicht notwendigerweise zu einer posttraumatischen Belastungsstörung (PTBS) führen müssen. Vor allem dieses Störungsbild hat in den letzten 3 Jahrzehnten zahlreiche empirische Untersuchungen zu seiner Verbreitung, Vorhersage, Behandlung und Prävention stimuliert.
