Summary
Fine organic or metallic particles suspended in an oxidizing or combustible gas form a reactive particle–gas mixture. Explosion pressures in such mixtures are remarkably higher than those of gaseous fuel–air mixtures because of the high energy content of particles and the initial particle mass that transitions to explosion product gases
