Abstract
A digital spiking neuron (DSN) is a wired system of shift registers. By adjusting the parameters (e.g., number of registers and wiring pattern), the DSN can generate spike-trains having various inter-spike-intervals. In this paper we present some basic relations between parameters of the DSN and characteristics of the spike-train. We also discuss that the presented results will be fundamental to consider ISI-based coding abilities of the DSN.
