Abstract
Amplitude control is required for various applications. Passive attenuators or VGAs (Variable Gain Amplifiers) are used for this task. A typical application is sketched in Fig. 13.1a, where the attenuators prevent the system from saturation in case that the input power at the receiver is too high.
