Zusammenfassung
Die Fachgruppe „Internationale und interkulturelle Kommunikation“ ist eine der Fachgruppen innerhalb der Deutschen Gesellschaft für Publizistik und Kommunikationswissenschaft, die sich erst vor wenigen Jahren gegründet hat, nach dem Wissenschaftlerinnen und Wissenschaftler sich schon seit längerem in einem gleichnamigen Netzwerk zu Fragen ausgetauscht hatten, die auf die (medial vermittelte) Kommunikation zwischen Menschen unterschiedlicher kultureller Prägungen gerichtet sind. Die Heterogenität ihrer disziplinären Herkunft sowie der Forschungsgebiete, die sie bearbeiten, ist sichtbarer Ausdruck dessen, dass das Forschungsfeld Internationale und interkulturelle Kommunikation viele integrative Elemente aufweist, ja aufweisen muss.
