Abstract

In recognition of his outstanding contribution to chemoreceptor research and the stimulus he had given to young researchers in this field of study the International Society for Arterial Chemoreception appropriately associated Eric Neil with Corneille Heymans and Fernando de Castro in naming an award for young investigators. This award, instituted in 1989, is given for the best presentation by a young researcher at each meeting of the Society.
