Abstract

A number of oligosaccharides found in normal urine and faeces have been identified as blood group active haptens, particularly within the ABO and Lewis systems. The oligosaccharide composition in these materials is therefore dependent upon the ABO, H, Lewis and Secretor genotype of the individual.
