About the editors
Dr. Manish Tiwari received Ph.D. in Electronics and Communications Engineering (ECE) in Photonics from MNIT Jaipur, India. Presently, he is a Professor in the Department of ECE at Manipal University, Jaipur. He has been Visiting Researcher at City University, London, under the UKIERI project in Microstructured Optical Fibers between 2010 and 2011 and Tsinghua University, Beijing, in 2016. Dr. Tiwari has presented a talk in PolyU, Hong Kong; KMUT, Bangkok; Kasetsart University, Bangkok; City University, London; and several UKIERI workshops. He has also served on the panel of experts in various workshops by CSTT, MHRD, Government of India. His current research interest areas are micro/nano-structure photonic devices, nonlinear optics, and photonic crystal fibers.
Yaseera Ismail is Senior Lecturer of Physics within the School of Chemistry and Physics at the University of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, and leads the experimental activities within the Quantum Research Group. She obtained her M.Sc. Cum Laude based at the CSIR National Laser Centre and holds a Ph.D. in Quantum Physics from the University of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. Dr. Ismail is a 2016 TechWomen Emerging Leader awarded by the United States Department of States, and in 2018, she was chosen as an Optica (formerly Optical Society of America) Ambassador. Dr. Ismail was awarded in 2021 the DHET Future Professor Fellow, which recognizes the top young researchers in South Africa, and she currently serves as Optica’s Vice President on the International Commission for Optics (ICO). Dr. Ismail’s research is based on the advancement of quantum technology, specializing in improving optical techniques for quantum communication.
Karan Verma is Assistant Professor in Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) Department, NIT Delhi. Before this, he has worked as an Assistant Professor in the CSE Department of the Central University of Rajasthan. He received his B.E. and M. Tech degreesin Information Technology and Computer Science & Engineering, respectively, from the University of Rajasthan in 2008 and the Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee, in 2010. He received his Ph.D. degree from the Department of Computer and Information Science at the Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS, Malaysia, in 2015 and Postdoc (PDF) in Computer Science & Engineering from the University of Californian, Davis, USA. Dr. Verma has supervised 04 Ph.D. and 20 master students. His research interest areas are information security, wireless sensor networks, and VANET.
Amit Kumar Garg is Assistant Professor in the Department of Electronics and Communications Engineering, Indian Institute of Information Technology, Kota, India. He obtained his Ph.D. from Malaviya National Institute of Technology (MNIT), Jaipur, India, in 2018. He received his B.E. and M.Tech. in 2009 and 2013, respectively. His research areas are optical communication and networks, hybrid FSO/SMF links, optical wireless links, smart-optical access networks, and high-speed gigabit passive optical networks. He is an Active Member of SPIE and OSA.
