About this book
This book provides a unique and comprehensive analysis of the normal anatomy and pathology of the kidney and upper urinary tract from the modern diagnostic imaging point of view. The first part is dedicated to the normal radiological anatomy of the kidney and normal anatomic variants. The second part presents in detail all of the imaging modalities which can be employed to assess the kidney and the upper urinary tract, with careful descriptions of patient preparation, investigation protocols, and principal fields of application of each imaging modality. The entire spectrum of kidney pathologies is then presented with the aid of a large set of images, many of which are in color. The latest innovations in interventional radiology, biopsy procedures, and parametric and molecular imaging are also described. This book should be of great interest to all radiologists, oncologists, and urologists who are involved in the management of kidney pathologies in their daily clinical practice.

Reviews
From the reviews:
“This is an encyclopaedia on kidney radiological imaging. … The reader is guided from the embryology and development of the kidney to its radiological anatomy and physiology. … this is a book that will be greatly appreciated by radiologists, urologists, nephrologists and clinicians, a book which will surely mark a point of arrival in the diagnosis and understanding of kidney diseases and the ensuing correct treatment of patients, one more example of the high-standards in Italian, European and North American Radiology.” (G. Beluffi, La Radiologia Medica, Vol. 117, 2012)
“The editor, Emilio Quaia, has assembled contributions from authors in Europe and America. … All the radiological images have reproduced well and there is good use of explanatory diagrams. … this is a well written comprehensive text. … The references are reasonably up to date – testimony to a prompt editorial process. … I am impressed. … It covers subjects in depth so it will be a good source of reference in the department.” (Michael Weston, RAD Magazine, June, 2011)Editors and Affiliations
