The Editor-in-Chief has retracted this article. After publication, concerns were raised regarding similarity between this article and the author's previous work [1]. The similarities include text overlap, comparable research purposes, same study population and highly similar conclusions. Additionally, there appears to be partial overlap of data in the Tables in this article and [1]:
-
Table 1 data (“before propensity score matching”) for tumour histotype, grade, stage and subtype match those in Table 2 in [1], however the patient age, DFI and tumor dimension are different;
-
Table 2 data (“after propensity score matching”) for age, DFI and dimension (mean and p-value, but not SD) still match those in Table 2 in [1] despite the propensity score matching.
The Editor-in-Chief has therefore lost confidence in the presented data and considers this article redundant.
Damiano Gentile does not agree to this retraction. Andrea Sagona, Erika Barbieri, Lidija Antunovic, Davide Franceschini, Agnese Losurdo, Bethania Fernandes and Corrado Tinterri have not responded to any correspondence from the editor or publisher about this retraction.
