Retraction Note to: Mol Neurobiol (2017) 54:7746–7760
The Editor in Chief has retracted the article. Concerns were raised regarding Figure 5D. Specifically the panel for SAH + LPS / DAPI partially overlaps with Figure 2B, Sham / DAPI. Upon further investigation concerns were identified with other figures, specifically:

Figure 2B: the sham panels appear to be highly similar to the sham panels in Figure 4D.

Figure 3B: the beta-actin 48h panel appears to be highly similar to the SAH + vehicle panel of figure 4A.

Figure 6: there appear to be unexpected similarities in the backgrounds between figures 6C and 6E.

Figure 6: it appears that the controls have been used multiple times without declaration.
The Editor-in-Chief therefore no longer has confidence in the results and conclusions of this article.
