Abstract.
In this paper, we analyse the structure of two-dimensional Stokes flow generated by a pressure gradient in a channel. This channel contains a row of identical cylindrical obstacles. We show the existence of a limiting value for the separation distance between the cylinders for which regions of recirculations are found. When the width of the channel is reduced, the limiting distance between the obstacles is also reduced. We observe the process by which the cells are formed and how they increase in number on reducing the separation distance between the cylinders.¶Résumé. Nous analysons la structure des écoulements de Stokes engendrés par un gradient de pression dans un canal plan, obstrué par une file de cylindres identiques. Nous montrons qu'il existe une valeur de la distance entre les cylindres, seuil d'apparition des cellules de recirculation, distance d'autant plus petite que la largeur du canal est plus petite. Cette distance diminuant, nous observons alors le processus de formation et de multiplication des cellules.
