Abstract
The stability of two homogeneous fluids under gravitational force has been discussed. A general perturbation in the horizontal planez=0 has been taken with wave numberk x, ky along and perpendicular to the streaming motion, respectively. It is found that critical wave numberk* lies on an ellipse in the first quadrant ofk x, ky plane.
