Abstract
The usefulness of a universal model potential suggested by one of the authors has been investigated in the augmented-plane-wave calculations of the electronic structure of various metals. Results of calculations based on universal model potential are compared with results calculated on the basis of self-consistent-field atomic potentials, and with the free electron model values.
