Summary
The (p, v) adiabatic coefficient can not be defined asC p /C v for dissociating combustion gases.
An equation is given which allows a simple determination of the (p, v) adiabatic coefficientk as a function of the pressure and the temperature for the range of the usual mixtures of combustion gases, if the coefficient for the relative increase of Mol-number due to dissociation α (T, p) is known.
Furthermore two diagrams are given by means of which the combustion temperaturesT i can be determined as a function of the specific heat within the range of usual combustion gas mixtures, especially in the stoichiometric ratio.
