Abstract
The Raman spectra of saturated hydrocarbons and type AI-80, AI-92, and AI-95 (the numerical symbols designate the octane number) regular leaded motor gasolines were recorded and studied. A correlation was made between the Raman bands in the spectra of gasolines and vibrational modes of saturated hydrocarbons. The effect of the number of carbon atoms in the chains of saturated hydrocarbons on the Raman frequencies of intramolecular vibrations was studied. The dependences of the frequency and intensity of the Raman lines resulting from stretching vibrations on the molecular mass of the saturated hydrocarbons were obtained and analyzed.
