Pressure effects on the Raman spectrum of gaseous propane in methane are investigated. It is found that propane Raman bands located in the range 2700–3100 cm–1 shift to lower frequencies although Raman bands in the range 300–1600 cm–1 change negligibly as the density of the medium containing the analyzed propane increases.
