Abstract
The paper presents some applications of 2-D systems theory to the problem of modeling the river pollution processes and the associated selfpurification phenomena. The dynamical evolution of the biological oxygen demand (BOD) and the dissolved oxygen (DO) in a one-dimensional river model is discussed under various physical assumptions.
