Summary
The project concerns the problem and principle of solving the three body problem by known mechanical means: function cylinders with a photoelectric follower, integrators, and adding machinery. The equations of motion each contain three terms (including the perturbation function); these are represented individually on the function cylinders, resolved along the axesx andy, and plotted in the working plane.
One of the three bodies is held firm, and the apparatus then records automatically the relative paths of the other two.
