Abstract
A collisional energy transfer in the wings of Na 3p and between Na2 A 1Σ +u and na 3p states has been used to excite a number of stimulated emissions in the near-ir region of 800–850 nm. The detailed study reveals Raman and parametric emission involving 3p, 3d, 4p, and 4d levels of Na. Two tunable dye lasers in the visible provide the pump waves.
