V Ramanathan is a Fulbright Fellow and was a Fellow of the Indian National Young Academy of Science (INYAS) from 2016–2020. He is working as an assistant professor at the Department of Chemistry, IIT (RHU) Varanasi. His areas of research are quantitative Raman spectroscopy, Raman imaging, computational chemistry, Indian scientific heritage and Carnatic musicology.
