We consider the radiative transfer problem in a multilayered semitransparent medium composed of m plane vertical layers of optic thickness ε = τ∗/m. It is assumed that the interfaces separating the layers as well as the left and right boundaries of the multilayered system are diffuse reflecting and diffuse refracting. We obtain asymptotics of the radiation intensity Iε and its density Uε as ε → 0.
