Zusammenfassung
Marketingkommunikation als Teil der Unternehmenskommunikation kann in Anbetracht der Entwicklungen nur noch äußerst eingeschränkt mit dem Sender-Empfänger-Modell persuasiver Kommunikation erklärt werden. Der Beitrag zeigt, dass es angebrachter ist, von einem genuinen und elaborierten Kommunikationsverständnis auszugehen, das auf den Kriterien der Selektivität, Kontextualität und Reflexivität basiert. Damit wird die heutige Bedeutung der kommunikativen Qualität des Marketings betont. Gleichzeitig wird die Problematik der Annahme von Kausalität in der Marketingkommunikation deutlich. Der Prozess der Marketingkommunikation, ihre neu entstandene Medienfunktion als Konsequenz der medialen Entwicklungen sowie klassische Umsetzungsformen wie die Werbung werden erörtert. Außerdem werden partizipative Formen der Marketingkommunikation im Internet sowie moderne Disziplinen wie Guerilla Marketing, Word-of-Mouth-Marketing und Utility Marketing diskutiert.
