Zusammenfassung

Zerebralparesen (CP) sind statische Enzephalopathien mit klarer neurologischer Symptomatik (spastisch, ataktisch, dyskinetisch), die vor dem Ende der Neonatalperiode entstehen. Die CP ist die häufigste Behinderung zentralmotorischer Ursache bei Kindern, insbesondere bei Frühgeborenen, mit hier 10- bis 100-fach höherem Vorkommen. Ihre Prävalenz nimmt seit Jahren jedoch gerade bei dieser Gruppe ab. Die CP ist ein vorwiegend läsionelles Krankheitsbild, monogene Ursachen sind selten. Die Topografie und Ausdehnung der Schädigung bestimmt die Schwere der motorischen Behinderung und der zusätzlichen Störungen im Bereich z. B. der Kognition, des Sehens, das Auftreten von Epilepsie. Daher kommt der Bildgebung eine zentrale diagnostische und differenzialdiagnostische Rolle zu. Therapeutische Unterstützung ist häufig mehrdimensional und dauerhaft notwendig.
