Zusammenfassung
Dekanülement und Tracheostomaverschluss sind von der Grunderkrankung und deren weiteren Entwicklung abhängig. Mit dem Tracheostomaverschluss sind fachspezifische und organisatorische Voraussetzungen zu erfüllen und Kontraindikationen zu beachten. Möglichkeiten zur Vorhersage des erfolgreichen Tracheostomaverschlusses mithilfe von Endoskopien werden im Kapitel ausführlich beschrieben und praktische Hinweise gegeben. Die weniger bekannten Komplikationen und Möglichkeiten zu deren Vermeidung werden abgehandelt. Nicht epithelialisierte Tracheostomata nach PDT zeigen Tendenzen zum Spontanverschluss. Bleibt dieser aus oder ist das Stoma epithelialisiert, muss ein plastisch-chirurgischer Verschluss erfolgen. In dem Kapitel werden zahlreiche chirurgische Methoden dargestellt, basierend auf den unterschiedlichen individuellen Ausgangslagen, das übergroße Stoma eingeschlossen. Die verschiedenen Möglichkeiten plastischer Verschlüsse und bei Erwachsenen und bei Kindern finden in übersichtlichen Beschreibungen und Bildern eine ausführliche Darstellung.
