Zusammenfassung
Wirbelsäulenverletzungen sind häufig mit schweren Begleitverletzungen in anderer Lokalisation kombiniert und stellen hinsichtlich der Diagnostik und des Versorgungsalgorithmus eine besondere fachliche Herausforderung dar. Die Diagnostik erfolgt unter Berücksichtigung des Protokolls der ATLS®-Richtlinien. Die Versorgung der Wirbelsäulenverletzung muss entsprechend den Richtlinien des Phasenprinzips des «Damage Control» in die Gesamtversorgung des Schwerstverletzten eingebunden sein. Die Deutsche Gesellschaft für Unfallchirurgie e. V. (DGU) hat hierfür eine interdisziplinäre S3-Leitlinie zur Behandlung schwerverletzter und polytraumatisierter Patienten entwickelt (DGU 2016).
