Zusammenfassung
Im Angebot an Gütern und Dienstleistungen zeigen sich die Bemühungen der Anbieter, die Konsumbedürfnisse ihrer Kunden zu erfüllen. Diese Bemühungen umfassen die Entwicklung von Produkten, deren Positionierung im Markt und die Sicherstellung von Qualität. Bei der Entwicklung arbeiten Psychologen oft Hand in Hand mit anderen Fachleuten, etwa Ingenieuren. Am besten geschieht dies in einer Unternehmung, in der eine gute Innovationskultur besteht. Damit das entwickelte Gut erfolgreich ist, muss es bestimmte Eigenschaften aufweisen, die von der anvisierten Zielgruppe in genau dieser Form nachgefragt werden: dazu dient die Positionierung. Entwicklung und Positionierung sind im heutigen Marktgeschehen aber nicht hinreichend. Um Kundenzufriedenheit zu erreichen, ist auch die Einhaltung eines angemessenen Qualitätsstandards erforderlich.
