Zusammenfassung
Geburtstraumatische Läsionen sind sehr selten. Sie werden in der Literatur mit 0,05–0,145 % der Geburten angegeben. 80–95 % der Kinder erholen sich spontan. Es ist wichtig, dass die behandelnden Ärzte die Säuglinge mit persistierenden neurologischen Ausfällen selektieren und engmaschig kontrollieren. Sollten sich die neurologischen Defizite bis zum 3. Lebensmonat nicht bessern, dann sind operative Maßnahmen in entsprechenden Nervenzentren bis zum 6. Monat angezeigt. Nach Ablauf von 2 Jahren sind in der Regel Ersatzoperationen notwendig. Vom Zeitpunkt der Diagnosesicherung an ist eine intensive Physiotherapie, die sich über viele Jahre erstreckt, erforderlich.
