Zusammenfassung

Das Pankreas wurde erstmals in Schriften von Eristratos (304–250 v. Chr.) erwähnt; erst im 18. Jahrhundert wurde das Organ anatomisch genau beschrieben. Obwohl die Chirurgie des Pankreas sich in der 2. Hälfte des 20. Jahrhundert drastisch verbessert hat, ist sie weiterhin mit einer hohen Komplikationsrate und einer zum Teil hohen Mortalität behaftet. In diesem Kapitel werden sowohl die benignen als auch die malignen Erkrankungen des Pankreas beschrieben. Eine besondere Beachtung wird dem Thema der Neoplasien (intraduktale papillär-muzinöse Neoplasie, muzinös-zystische Neoplasie, solide pseudopapilläre Neoplasie) mit malignem Potenzial gewidmet. Die operativen Prinzipien und die wichtigsten Techniken werden dargestellt. Außerdem werden die perioperativen Komplikationen und deren Therapie diskutiert.
