Zusammenfassung
Die digitale Plattformökonomie hat neue Möglichkeiten für Geschäftsmodelle entstehen lassen – Transaktionen, Austausch von Waren und Dienstleistungen und das Zusammenbringen von Marktteilnehmern auf einem digitalen Ort eröffnen neue Potenziale. Die Plattformökonomie lebt dabei von den Implikationen der Skalen- und Netzwerkeffekte: Diese Implikationen sind aber bisher aus Monetisierungs- und preispolitischer Sicht kaum untersucht worden. Dabei sind diese Themenfelder von zentraler Bedeutung, da sie über die Profitabilität und die langfristigen Erfolgsaussichten von digitalen Plattformen entscheiden. Der Beitrag beleuchtet die grundlegenden ökonomischen Implikationen von digitalen Plattformen, zeigt auf, wie die wichtige „kritische Masse“ an Nutzern erreicht werden kann, und analysiert ausführlich, welche Maßnahmen und Gestaltungsmöglichkeiten im preispolitischen Spektrum existieren und optimal eingesetzt werden können.
