Zusammenfassung
Innovationen prägen die moderne Gesellschaft seit ihrem Beginn. Gegenwärtig verändert diese Beziehung jedoch ihren Charakter: Moderne Gesellschaften werden heute Innovationsgesellschaften, in denen Innnovationen die dominante treibende Kraft der Entwicklung bilden. Produziert und reproduziert werden Innovationen heute vor allem in Innovationsfeldern.
Bei diesem Kapitel handelt es sich um eine stark gekürzte und überarbeitete Fassung des 2016 von der Deutschen Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) bewilligten Fortsetzungsantrags für das am Institut für Soziologie der Technischen Universität Berlin angesiedelte Graduiertenkolleg Innovationsgesellschaft heute. Die reflexive Herstellung des Neuen (GK1672). An der Ausarbeitung des Fortsetzungsantrags für das Kolleg haben die oben genannten Kolleginnen und Kollegen elementar beigetragen. Dafür möchten wir uns an dieser Stelle nochmals herzlich bedanken. Dank gebührt ferner Eric Lettkemann für seine Unterstützung bei der Erstellung dieses Kapitels. Weitere Überlegungen des Kollegs zur Innovationsgesellschaft finden sie in dem von Werner Rammert, Arnold Windeler, Hubert Knoblauch und Michael Hutter herausgegebenen Sammelband Innovationsgesellschaft heute. Perspektiven, Felder und Fälle (Rammert et al. 2016). Um zu viele Verweise auf diesen Sammelband in diesem Kapitel zu vermeiden, verzichten wir hier darauf. Wir wollen aber darauf hinweisen, dass dieses Kapitel sehr eng mit den Beiträgen des Sammelbandes verwoben ist.
