Drei grundlegend verschiedene Konzepte von Organisation lassen sich unterscheiden. Man kann Organisation als (1) Handlungsweise („way of acting“), als (2) Klassifizierungskategorie für gesellschaftliche (Sub-)Systeme oder als (3) soziale Entität begreifen.
