Zusammenfassung
Die Frage nach dem Berufsziel oder den persönlichen Berufsinteressen nimmt in der heutigen Gesellschaft eine zentrale Rolle ein, mit der bereits Kinder in frühen Lebensphasen konfrontiert werden. Ist es der Zufall, sind es willkürliche Umstände, die hierbei zu einer Antwort führen können, oder finden sich andere Indikatoren, die maßgeblichen Einfluss auf unsere Entscheidungen nehmen? Vor dem Hintergrund dieser Fragestellung beleuchtet das folgende Kapitel den Einfluss von Persönlichkeit auf Berufsinteressen und berufsbezogene Leistungen. Mittels Erkenntnissen aus der aktuellen Forschung aufgezeigt, welche Berufsinteressen mit welchen Persönlichkeitseigenschaften assoziiert werden oder welche Persönlichkeitsmerkmale beispielsweise besonders förderlich für bestimmte berufliche Leistungen sind. Die hier dargestellten Befunde vermitteln die Notwendigkeit, berufsbezogene Kontexte koexistierend mit Persönlichkeitsmerkmalen zu betrachten und Persönlichkeitsmessung für fundierte berufliche Entscheidungen unterstützend hinzuzuziehen.
