Zusammenfassung
In der Debatte um regionale Innovationssysteme und Innovationscluster wird der Raumbezug innovativen Handelns aus wirtschaftsgeografischer und regionalsoziologischer Perspektive thematisiert. Hierbei stehen die zentrale Bedeutung räumlicher Nähe und regionaler Institutionen im Mittelpunkt, wobei Regionalisierungs- und Globalisierungsprozesse zusammenwirken. Regionale Netzwerke, lokale Wissens- und Erfahrungsbestände und lokale Interaktionen avancieren gerade durch die regionale Einbettung multinationaler Unternehmen zu zentralen Brenn- und Knotenpunkten einer weltweiten Wissensgesellschaft.
