Zusammenfassung
Die Soziologie der Erziehung und Bildung fragt nach dem Zusammenhang pädagogischer Praktiken Institutionen, Konzepte und Theorien mit der Struktur und Dynamik der Gesellschaft. Jede Gesellschaft, so eine klassische These, bringt diejenige Erziehung und Bildung hervor, die sie benötigt, um Kinder, Jugendliche und Erwachsene in die Ordnung der Gesellschaft einzufügen. Demgegenüber reklamieren pädagogische Theorien eine Autonomie der Erziehung und Bildung und betrachten es als Aufgabe der Pädagogik, die Selbstbestimmungsfähigkeit der Individuen zu fördern. Der Beitrag gibt einen Überblick über grundlegende Annahmen soziologischer Bildungs-, Erziehungs- und Sozialisationstheorien.
