Zusammenfassung
Im liberalen Wohlfahrtsregime der USA kommt dem Arbeitsmarkt eine besonders maßgebliche Rolle für die Lebensstandards der Menschen zu. Durch den schnell voranschreitenden Strukturwandel ist Anpassungsfähigkeit an immer neue Bedingungen über die verschiedensten Ausbildungsniveaus die allgegenwärtige Norm geworden und ausschlaggebend für eine erfolgreiche Teilnahme am Arbeitsmarkt. Zudem sind Herausforderungen und Chancen am US-Arbeitsmarkt zunehmend ungleich auf bestimmte Regionen verteilt. Der ortsbezogene Fokus von Präsident Bidens industriepolitischen Initiativen greift diese aktuellen Entwicklungen auf und versucht, die stark dezentralisierten arbeitsmarktpolitischen Maßnahmen besser zu koordinieren. Insbesondere die job training Komponente der Arbeitsmarktpolitik im engeren Sinn könnte ein geeignetes Instrument bieten, um den Herausforderungen ständigen Wandels erfolgreich zu begegnen.
