Zusammenfassung
Elektrophysiologische Untersuchungen ermöglichen bei einer Vielzahl von Nervenkompressionssyndromen – besser als die alleinige klinische Untersuchung – eine Objektivierung der Störung, erleichtern die lokalisatorische Zuordnung (z. B. Kompression des N. ulnaris in der Loge de Guyon oder am Ellbogen), erlauben mitunter auch eine prognostische Einordnung (z. B. Leitungsblock versus axonale Schädigung) und gestatten die Objektivierung von Regenerationsvorgängen (Assmus 1978, Bischoff et al. 2008, Bischoff und Schulte-Mattler 2011). Neben den beiden grundlegenden Verfahren der Untersuchung der Impulsleitung mit der elektrischen Neurografie (ENG) und der Elektromyografie (EMG) kommen gelegentlich auch die Magnetstimulation (MEP) und die Untersuchung der somatosensiblen evozierten Potenziale (SEP) zum Einsatz.
