Zusammenfassung

Herzinsuffizienz ist die Unfähigkeit des Herzens, den Körper ausreichend mit Sauerstoff zu versorgen. Die rasch progrediente Verschlechterung der Herzfunktion aufgrund einer kardialen Dysfunktion bezeichnet man als akute Herzinsuffizienz. Im perioperativen und intensivmedizinschen Bereich spielt die akute Herzinsuffizienz sowohl als primäre Erkrankung, aber auch als relevante Komorbidität eine entscheidende Rolle, sei es als Dekompensation einer chronischen Erkrankung oder als unabhängiges Erstsymptom. Die Extremform der akuten Herzinsuffizienz ist der kardiogene Schock: ein akutes Kreislaufversagen mit Gewebe- bzw. Organminderperfusion und Hypoxie. Häufigste Ursache ist der Myokardinfarkt. Die Prognose ist sehr ernst.
