Internationale Politische Ökonomie in den Internationalen Beziehungen

Zusammenfassung

Zentrales Thema der Internationalen Politischen Ökonomie (IPÖ) sind Verhältnis und Interaktion politischer (i. e. L. staatlicher) und wirtschaftlicher (staatlicher wie privater) Akteure, Institutionen und Strukturen. Die IPÖ steht also an der Schnittstelle politik- und wirtschaftswissenschaftlicher Blickwinkel der internationalen Beziehungen. Der vorliegende Beitrag erläutert die wissenschaftshistorische Entwicklung, die prägenden theoretischen Hauptströmungen und wesentliche Nachbardisziplinen der IPÖ sowie ihre Stellung innerhalb des Feldes des Internationalen Beziehungen. Ihre spezifische Perspektive wird anhand des strukturellen Machtbegriffs und der Frage nach der Hegemonie im internationalen System verdeutlicht. Aktuelle Forschungsfragen und Diskussionen in der IPÖ beziehen sich beispielsweise auf Aspekte der Globalisierung und global governance in internationalen Wirtschafts- und Finanzsystem, der europäischen Integration, des Liberalen Friedens und der economic warfare.
