Zusammenfassung
Dieser Beitrag beschäftigt sich mit computersimulierten Vorhersagen als Instrumenten gesellschaftlicher Selbstbeobachtung und Handlungskoordination. Die zunehmende Verwendung numerischer Prognosen zur Vorhersage sozialer Dynamiken wird dabei nicht auf eine sich bahnbrechende technische Eigenlogik reduziert, sondern als kontingente Herausbildung sozio-technischer Vorhersagearrangements verstanden. In diesen Arrangements überlagern sich technische Rationalitäten mit ökonomischen, politischen, professionellen und organisationalen Logiken, die sich sowohl wechselseitig stabilisieren als auch miteinander konkurrieren können. Aus Perspektive der Wissenschafts- und Technikforschung wird in diesem Zusammenhang gefragt, wie die Etablierung computersimulierter Vorhersagen als schrittweise Verschränkung und wechselseitige Ausrichtung von numerischen Prognosen und sozialen Dynamiken verstanden werden kann.
